Downtown Rockport is a mix of neat art galleries, restaurants, and shops right near historic Rockport Harbor. 


Fulton is the fishing village that abuts Rockport. It has a lively downtown with funky bars, restaurants, bait shops and more. Stroll through to see the working oyster and shrimp boats bring in the days catch.


Rockport beach is a smaller, more manicured beach attraction right in the heart of Rockport. Plenty of tables, permanent sunshades, grills, parking, options make it an easy adventure and provides and calmer, shallower swimming environment. Rockport Public Beach is a beautiful sand beach open to the public. The beach offers sand volleyball, picnic shelters, grills, horseshoes and a salt water swimming area.

Port Aransas Beach is one of the more sought after beaches along the Texas coast. Here, the waves are much larger and you can drive on the beach. Port Aransas is just a short drive and ferry ride from Rockport.

Schlitterbahn Corpus Christi is a complete family entertainment destination that includes a golf club, full service restaurant and bar, swim up bar, and an all-new Schlitterbahn waterpark with an incredible lazy river system. The waterpark can be accessed by either Port Aransas or Corpus Christi.

Fulton Mansion State Historic Site, a Texas Historical Commission property, is located in Rockport. The 2.7-acre coastal site is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The distinctive mansion was restored in 1976-1983 and opened to visitors as a historic house museum in 1983. Today, the doors of the Fulton Mansion are still open to the public, and its library, parlor, dining room, sitting room, bedrooms and bathrooms are available for exploring, offering a rare glimpse into the posh Victorian world of a prominent South Texas family at a time when interior gas lighting and flush-toilets were progressive for this part of Texas. Learn about George Fulton's engineering skills, take a walk through Harriet Fulton's gardens and hear the stories of living in a grand Victorian villa. An Education and History Center is located behind the mansion with interactive exhibits and a gift shop.

The Lexington is a great activity for kids and families. The former naval air craft carrier is now a museum with tours, 3 story mega-theater built into the original aircraft elevator shaft, virtual battle stations, flight simulator, and more. Part of the movie Pearl Harbor was even filmed on the Lexington.

The Rockport/Fulton area offers an abundance of kayaking opportunities. Through this company you can rent kayaks, take lessons, or guided birding and fishing excursions. Kayak rentals include complimentary delivery and pickup. Even if you don't venture past the extensive canal network of Key Allegro, there is much to see, including Connie Hagar Wildlife Sanctuary located at Little Bay.


The variety of options for fishing around Rockport is virtually unlimited, making it one of the top destinations in Texas for bay and flats fishing. Copano Bay offers numerous shallow oyster reefs, St. Charles Bay and Redfish Bay offer back water redfish action, while Aransas Bay offers open water reefs for trout. Across Aransas Bay the entire St. Joe shoreline offers inlets and tidal lakes for redfish, flounder, and trout action.
